weekend recap

weekend-recap

have you ever had a weekend where a lot happened, but without a lot of progress? see my past weekend..

friday night was my monthly girl's dinner, this month at cowboy chow. the indian fry bread keeps me coming back to this quirky little establishment. also, any place that mixes damask wallpaper with rustic wood and twin buffalo heads has earned my patronage. i frequently judge a restaurant based on their decor. ps: if you visit cowboy chow in dallas (they also have a roanoke location), make sure to visit the powder room. i was home by 9 pm and all to ready to hit the sack. are fridays tough for anyone else?

saturday came and i found myself wanting to kidnap err... adopt a spunky 8 year-old blonde, also my niece's volleyball opponent. [i sure hope my children have sass and a competitive nature]. i wasted half the day "cleaning" and "organizing", although you'd never know it. the only proof of any productivity this weekend is my homework from the "blogging your way" class. see more about it here.

wine and laughter with friends defined saturday night. you wouldn't have to twist my arm to make this a weekly tradition. no pressure. no expectations. conversation that leads into a debate about the pluralization of the last name davis. is it davises? davis's? davis'? google via iphone can tell you. oh yeah, and maybe a little singing of the fresh prince of bel aire theme song. it doesn't get any better.

sunday was a dud. allergies were kicking my butt and i just couldn't muster up the energy to fake an interest in the superbowl. thankfully, husband was feeling low-key, as well. me with my laptop, him with our kitties, we watched game, ate some buffalo wings, and settled the evening with a hot chocolate nightcap.

see what i mean, a lot of talk, decent amount of action -- but i still feel like i'm sitting in the place spot that i was friday morning.

anyone got a prescription for a rut?
