looks like somebody needs to recap a little more than a weekend, huh? excuse my disappearance. i really have no explanation, other than the fact that taking the time to sit down at my laptop required more interest than i could muster over past week. i have been enjoying life, for which i will not apologize. [if i didn't have utter disdain for emoticons, i'd insert a smiley face here]
okay, now that that's out there, i will recap my past two weekends. only because they were quite fabulous! they shared a theme, in fact -- girlfriend time! while i absolutely love spending time with husband, sometimes you just need someone to dish about fashion, share health trends, and laugh over ex-boyfriends with.

jordan, my maid of honor, was visiting from birmingham two weekends ago. we definitely made the best of this rare visit! skipping out of work early for manicures and pedicures. new mango flavor at pinkberry (for free, thanks to thankfully thrifty). margaritas and fajitas at manny's. bellini's and breakfast at penne pomodoro. shopping (till we dropped) all saturday -- calypso, lucy, dallas flea, & northpark. yogurt and raspberries at orange cup. sip of tea at village tea company. wine and pizza at olivella's. martinis at bar celine. (okay, we ate and drank a lot - perhaps, another smiley face here?) as i said, it was fabulous!
this most recent weekend was spent again with girlfriends, but those of another demographic -- married with children.
saturday morning, i helped host a baby shower for my good friend, melissa. i will definitely do a post on this here soon -- it turned out just lovely! you know, it's funny, i love being around moms. i actually don't mind their conversation about breast feeding and stroller skating. but, i definitely don't plan on joining this demographic anytime soon.

the rest of the weekend was extremely low-key. both nights, i crashed as the third wheel with my girlfriends and their husbands (mine was skiing for a bachelor party). friday night -- burgers and theological discussion about marriage with the toneys. saturday -- coffee and intellectual political debate with the griffins.
i also spent a lot of time brainstorming, researching, and planning a potential business venture. that's all i'm going to say about that (another smiley face here -- maybe even a slight smirk).
Loved this post...I felt like I was there with you. Your time with Jordan sounded fabulous. I miss all of yall. Can't wait for more shower pics.
