POST-Fabulous

Last night I attended a long-overdue Blogger Party here in Dallas. Honestly, I have been extremely jealous of San Francisco, NYC and Chicago because of their Blogger Meetups for quite sometime. So, I am extremely grateful to hello, splendor! and fabulous k for the lovely evening they produced last night at Nest. Not only was the space amazing and clearly the downright perfect venue for so many fashionable, stylish women [and a few men] to gather, confess their stalking tendencies and drink champagne, they also managed to put together one of the best SWAG bags I have seen in quite some time.

But the best part of the evening was meeting and spending time with the talented women I not so secretly admire normally from behind my computer screen. Kendall, from Lower Oak Lawn and Entertaining Life, and I developed a real world friendship not that long ago, but it was great to meet Abbe from Studio Ten 25 (you would have thought we were childhood best friends the way we were going on), Grant from Cashmere Cowboy, Food Bitch, Lauren - Art Director with Dallas Child/DJ (Don't you wish you had a cool "/" in your life?), Rebecca from Houses Gardens People, and of course Joslyn, the author of Simple Lovely and Sam with Style/SWOON. I even got to chat a little bit about the Kappa House with Sarah from SMU Style.

And as if that wasn't enough, the Nest blog is hosting a post-party scavenger hunt -- blogger style, of course! The task: Hi-light 5 of your favorite items from Nest on your blog. Like that will be hard. The prize: a Missoni robe. Please let me win. So here we go...

1) I definitely could have seen this bracelet wallet hanging on the wrists of several fashionable bloggers last night, myself included. Truth be told, I am kinda getting tired of clutches -- the whole holding the purse, drinking wine AND shaking someone's hand math just doesn't add up.

2) I actually saw these Haikubes at another retailer earlier this week. Fun Christmas gift idea.

3) If I'm being honest, I thought these fun, colorful bag were for candy when I was in the store. But, it turns out they're vases! How fabulous is that? I might have to go back for those. Update: done!

4) Jonathan Adler's pillows are always a favorite. I prefer Love over Lust, but that's just me.

5) And finally, Taschen's Paris, an absolutely stunning guide to the city of love. This is not just a pretty coffee table book, it has wonderful insider tips! I am pretty sure I will be buying this as Christmas gift this year. Should have used my Partner's Card last night! I think I'll swing by on my way home from work. Update: also done.

  4. You. Are. THE COOLEST. I wish I had been there! I keep seeing tweets and whatnot about it today, but somehow it had totally escaped me before now. Maybe the fact that I haven't blogged since March (?) would have disqualified me anyway...

  6. How did I miss that bracelet wallet? That's cool! It’s great that so many small businesses are catching on to the power of local bloggers. What a great way to spread buzz! The store and the crowd were fantastic. It’s interesting to see that everyone's 5 favorite things are totally different from each other!
