weekend recap + new look!

for those of you that haven't heard, dallas set some records with snow this past weekend. records that left many without power and took down large tree limbs. thankfully, we escaped the power outages and remembered to move the cars. i celebrated the day off of work with complete and utter lack of productivity. honestly...i can.not. for the life of me remember what i did on friday morning/afternoon.


friday night, husband and i celebrated valentine's day -- an italian dinner at taverna followed "i love you, you're perfect, now change", a hilarious musical comedy about dating, love, and marriage, playing at theatre three in uptown. if you have not seen this, you must! it was responsible for the most outbursts of laughter my belly has felt in months.

i woke up saturday morning with a pinched nerve in my back (perhaps from so much laughter? hmmm..) have you ever had one of those? ouch! i was able to catch up on my blog reading with my new friend, the heating pad. at about 4 pm (after husband & i had big fight -- pain/helplessness meets negative interpretation) i needed to get out of the house. husband & i both admitted we had been delinquent on purchasing our valentine's gifts for each other, so we headed off to northpark mall. he made out with 2 shirts on sale at dillards; and i with this summer silk scarf from nordstroms (mine's black & white stripes with yellow).

we fought again on sunday.
i think my husband's valentine's day card to me says it all:

some days are candy, sweet and enjoyable.
other days are like rotten vegeatables, hard to endure.
but regardless of the day, i love you the same.
