husband and i headed to our nation's capital this past weekend - giving me the perfect excuse to use my new diane von furstenberg luggage. the purpose of our visit was to participate in our good friends' engagement. that's right, participate. husband, along with two other best friends of the groom-to-be, played a vital role in escorting his love on a mini-savenger hunt among washington's historical landmarks.

while it was bitter cold, the blanket of snow that arrived saturday morning set a romantic tone for a perfect proposal.
i took on the role of the papparazi, following the bride-to-me and her escorts along their route. long story short -- she said "yes". was there ever any doubt? i surely hope not, considering so many players were involved.

the whole crew celebrated that evening with dinner at chef geoff's -- i can't wait for all the other parties and showers that will ensue leading up to the ultimate celebration of their marital union.
being that i grew up in northern virginia, it was an added bonus to stay at home with my mom, eat some homemade chicky soup (a family recipe), and hit up some local shopping, namely leohmann's, where i picked up this fun sequin crochet beret by free people in black for $7.
