wedding wednesday: groomsmen gifts

Recently, husband and I were asked to help a bride and groom brainstorm some good groomsmen gift ideas. Outside of the overdone cuff links and the expected flask, it proved to be a challenging task. When you have a large wedding party, it can be very difficult to find a gift that a wide variety of men (everyone from your college buddy to your bible study leader to your future 17-year-old brother-in-law) will appreciate, not to mention ones that won't break the bank. I think we came up with a pretty decent list, so I thought I'd share (in no particular order). These are husband-approved.

1. Monogrammed duffel/work out bag
2. Custom-fit dress shirts [this is what husband gave, with monogrammed cuffs]

3. 6-month Netflix subscription
4. Knife
5. Pair of monogrammed folding camp chairs
6. Poker chip set
7. "Of the month" Membership (Salsa of the month, wine, cigar...)
8. BBQ tools set
9. Gift card at a local car wash (e.g.: car washes for a year)
10. Custom bobble heads [okay, this one didn't make the list, but aren't they awesome?! haha!]

and if he's dead set on the flask; this gift box idea isn't so bad.

  1. Nice. We did pocket knives for bridesmaids and groomsmen. I became obsessed with these precious pink ones with beauty tools in them. And for groomsmen gifts, we were having trouble finding gifts that didn't promote alcohol. For many reasons, we needed to stay away from that. So when we decided to do pocket knives as well.

Also my brother-in-law gave Ugg-like moccasin slippers with the fur in them. I think those were a hit.
